Concert I: Festival Opening – Organ/Body

Wed. May 29 | Orgelpark

The ninth edition opens with a unique concert evening ‘Organ/Body’ in collaboration with Orgelpark. Here we explore the fusion between organ sounds, software and music, with two concerts made especially for, and partly within, the Orgelpark. Dutch sound artist and composer Casimir Geelhoed presents the premiere of ‘Deviations’, followed by the Swedish composers Maria W Horn & Mats Erlandsson. The latter will present special readapted versions of their piece ‘The Spectral Organ’.

Concert II: Memory Vessels

Thurs. May 30 | BIMHUIS

On May 30, join us at Bimhuis for an extraordinary audiovisual exploration of intense emotions, memories, and how they acquire a presence in bodie. During our event “Memory Vessels", Pyur (Sophie Schnell) presents her second release, “Lucid Anarchy”; a personal and emotional sonic journal filled with pulsating electronic soundscape that is both minimalist in form and rich in emotional depth. The second act of this evening is an NL premiere by HULUBALANG, the latest solo project by Aditya Surya Taruna. Collaborating with visual artist Brandon Tray, they present the album and audiovisual performance BUNYI BUNYI TUMBAL.

Concert III: Liminal Being

Friday May 31 | Brakke Grond

The third concert night with the title Liminal Being, taking place at the Brakke Grond, is dedicated to the fusion of natural and synthetic spaces, bodies and the audiovisual aesthetics this produces. Two performances by Nexcyia (Live) and LOREM (Live AV) take you on an immersive journey that leads through themes of otherness, exploring lived or synthetic identity while questioning what makes or defines our human limits.

In collaboration with FIBER, STUK and the Brakke Grond, we present Neighbouring Frequencies: a programme with a focus on the development and presentation of sound art from the Netherlands and Belgium. Both countries have a rich history in the field of sound art and have many artists and institutions active in this field. The day has a showcase function, inviting the public to short lectures and sound art performances and installations, through which the work of both a known and emerging generation can be experienced.
