May 30 - Jun 16 | de Brakke Grond
The installation "Homo-carduelis: Inside the Gilded Cage" explores the paradox of freedom and captivity through an installation of empty birdcages emitting human imitations of goldfinch songs. Reflecting on themes of societal disillusionment and self-indoctrination, the work challenges notions of freedom and domestication. Which bodies are actually imprisoned and which are free to move outside? Through varying scales and materials, Tabti presents a universal portrait of entrapment, questioning whether humanity itself has become ensnared in its pursuit of liberty.
