Context programme release

CONTEXT PROGRAMME RELEASE FIBER FESTIVAL 2024

Timely, critical conversations and inspiring talks have always been essential to our festival programming. Over a period of two days, Friday 31 May and Saturday 1 June, we invite you to the @brakkegrond—our annual meeting place for artists ,researchers, designers, students, and anyone with an interest in new developments within art and digital culture.

Together we will further delve into the festival theme Outer/Body and explore urgent questions around embodied technological practices, algorithmic culture, the resurgence of collective consciousness and care in a hyper-individualised world, and much more. Expect a selection of artist talks, panels and artistic intermissions.

From bodily applications of artificial intelligence to psychedelics, and from sonic storytelling to the practice of raving, we tap into more-than-human ways of being and worldbuilding. For our festival lecture, on Friday, May 31, we are delighted to invite renowned media theorist, writer, and critic McKenzie Wark, author of the books Raving: Practices (2023), Love and Money, Sex and Death (2024), and Capital Is Dead (2019).
