Two days down, three more to go!
Thank you for joining us on the second day of FIBER Festival 2024!
Yesterday we visited Door Open Space for the opening of our festival exhibition, where we were challenged to experience more-than-human worlds and question who (or what) defines the boundaries and compositions of bodies. Afterwards, we converged at Bimhuis for our second concert evening, Memory Vessels. We were submerged into PYUR’s exhilarating, soul-searching sonic world, while Hulubalang’s unrelenting noisescapes and Brandon Tay’s melting visuals did not leave room for reprieve, confronting us with lineages of colonialism and inherited pain.
We now feel recharged and ready for the start of our context programme! Join us today at brakkegrond as we dive into processes of creative and sonic worldbuilding, the intersection of culture and psychedelics, and collective embodied practices. Day 1 of the context programme ends with a performative lecture by renowned theorist and writer McKenzie Wark, who will be joined by DJ, producer, radio host, and local gem YoungWoman.
Later, we finally get to experience Stefanie Egedy’s powerful installation, Bodies and Subwoofers (B.A.S.) at Het Slotervaart. Make sure to bring earplugs—it’s going to get intense! Last 15 tickets are now on sale!
In the evening, we will return to the Brakke Grond, where we invite you to explore the limits of your senses. Our third festival concert evening, Liminal Being, is dedicated to the fusion of the natural and the synthetic, the Self and the Other. Nexcyia (with visuals by orah) and LOREM will take you on immersive sonic journeys that will challenge your human thresholds.
And later, we’ll head to Bar Theoamsterdam to unwind with soundscapes curated by Traumgarten. Sets by: Vox supreme b2b Naka Noblu, Yb3l, and Neska.
