Through her practice, Myra-Ida explores the interactions between the body and its extensions in space, technologies, and other individuals. Immersed in multimedia performance, electroacoustic instrument building, and vocal experimentation, she orchestrates captivating experiences that intertwine sensory perceptions, soundscapes, and innovative craftsmanship. With her work, Myra-Ida invites audiences on a journey of self-discovery, communal connection, and the profound beauty of shared vulnerability, embodying Myra-Ida’s quest for collective care and unity through multidisciplinary creativity.
About the artist
Myra-Ida van der Veen is a multimedia performance artist, electro-acoustic instrument designer and singer. She has a broad, experimental way of working and currently focuses mainly on the process of collective creations. With visual atmospheres, scents and a wide range of different instruments, she creates performative spaces where the imagination speaks.
This artist is part of the Context Programme, participating in the Friday morning round table sessions: (De)Constructing Bodies – Creative Processes In Relation To Bodies & Identities.
