FIBER’s Context Programme is the daytime meeting place of the festival. Join for a selection of lectures, artist talks, and panels by festival artists and leading guests, with occasional sound elements. We guide you through artistic and scientific research, music culture, and new technological developments in the context of pressing societal challenges. The programme brings you closer to our festival theme Outer/Body and offers a great opportunity to meet forward-thinking professionals and students.

Programme
Day 1 Context Programme
Friday, 31 May | 11:00 - 17:30, de Brakke Grond
The first day of the context programme provides a space for anyone interested in learning more about contemporary developments happening in between audiovisual art, performance practices, installation art, experimental electronic music, and more. The morning is designed as a meeting place with the goal of directly engaging with artistic makers and thinkers in an informal setting. Several round table discussions offer the opportunity to enter into conversations with our guest artists and audience to share their creating experiences. In the afternoon, we will invite you to explore alternative worlds, through artistic making, psychedelic practices, and their crossover with contemporary audio / visual arts, culture, and technology as well as think of raving as a practice.

Day 2 Context Programme
Saturday, 1 June | 11:00 - 18:00, de Brakke Grond
During the second day of the context programme, we deepen our explorations of critical perspectives on social and cultural shifts, employing artistic methodologies to imagine futures and break apart prevailing norms. Starting with a guided sound meditation, we welcome you into the space. From there, we start our discussions with an examination of race and machine learning, questioning new trajectories for regenerative AI and algorithmic frameworks. We will explore the fusion of technological advancements and corporeal creation processes, challenge entrenched notions of identity and reality, and contemplate the multi-dimensional nature of existence and our cosmic interconnectedness. Our collective journey will end with the dissemination of modes of embodied resistance and communal healing amidst technological advancements and societal inequalities.
